Harry teases his girl's father about his bad luck with fishing and is consequently forbidden to see his girl. The next day, Dad goes fishing again. After he leaves, the young couple goes for a walk. They pass a fish market and get an idea for solving their problem with her father. They buy a huge fish, and go down to the dock where Dad has fallen asleep. The girl snaps a picture of Dad sleeping, with Harry next to him, holding the fish. Then Harry ties the fish to Dad's line. They hide, and throw a stone at Dad to wake him. Dad is ecstatic about his good luck. Later the proud fisherman prepares to serve a fish dinner to his friends, with a professional photograph of him with his fish, prominantly on display. Harry arrives and the girl persuades her reluctant father to leave the feast for a minute and speak to him. They show him the receipt for the fish, and the photograph with Dad asleep and Harry beside him, holding the fish. Then they threaten to expose his "fish story" to all of his admiring friends. Dad is forced to agree to let his daughter see Harry again. Early motion pictures : the Paper Print Collection in the Library of Congress / by Kemp R. Niver. Library of Congress. 1985.
